ECO LABEL for Garden Products

In protected areas and private gardens, many people consider the noise generated by garden tools to be significant noise pollution. The purpose of giving an environmental label to garden tools with low noise and low pollution is therefore primarily to reduce noise emissions.

ECO LABEL identifies these garden tools with state-of-the-art noise reduction technology. Since tools powered by the latest specification combustion engine do not meet the requirements for environmental labeling, these vehicles are no longer included in the latest Basic Award Criteria. 

The scope of ECO LABEL covers electric motorized (mains or battery powered) garden tools such as chainsaws, hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, electric trimmers and trimmers, scrapers, grinders and post trimmers.

In addition, the use of substances harmful to the environment and human health is excluded for all tools. Battery operated tools should use rechargeable batteries with low pollution and long service life. Rechargeable batteries must be replaceable.
