Millions of diapers are used every day around the world and then thrown away. Not only do they use large amounts of raw materials in their production, they also generate a lot of waste: According to the projections made according to these figures, thousands of tons of waste diapers are produced in a year.

These products are in constant contact with the skin (eg young children) and therefore even the smallest amount of harmful chemicals can have a negative effect. Strict requirements are imposed on all materials contained in diapers, and there is a detailed exclusion list for hazardous substances and substances harmful to health. In addition, to avoid the risk of allergies, the use of lotions, scents and odor absorbers in products that have an environmental label is prohibited.

Another main focus is on the origins and production processes of feather pulp. Swollen pulp should only be sourced from certified, sustainably operated businesses that are close to nature (e.g. FSC, PEFC) and that produce energy-efficient and low-emission fluff pulp. In the case of other biogenic raw materials that can be used in products, only certified biomass is approved.
